 The main ingredient in Hoshitoko wax is called Japan wax, or Urushi Wax, which is another word for lacquer in Japan. Urushi stems from the fruits of the Urushi tree which produces highly durable lacquer. All Hoshitoko products consist of natural ingredients and are easy to use in combination with other products.

 Hoshitoko wax-making represents a broad cultural history. The waxes were specifically made for sumo wrestlers and geishas but also for samurai movies and wigmakers for the Kabuki theatre.
